Comments:

Married Richard Eckert in 1964, while attending MSU. I worked his way through his BA degree from Midwestern as well as his MA degree from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX, then his PhD from University of Oklahoma. I received my BS Degree in 1980 from MSU and worked for Wichita County Juvenile Probation Dept. as a Probation Officer for three years.
I was a licensed Realtor in the great State of Texas since 1986 and retired 9/30/18,.
I served as a volunteer and board member through the years with Wichita Falls YMCA, assisted in organizing Big Brothers and Sisters of Wichita Co. in the early '80's, worked as a mentor with Partners in Education, served on the board of MSU Alumni Assn. as well as the Better Business Bureau, volunteered with First Step, Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure, United Way and Leadership Wichita Falls. While working at REMAX for 10 years both in Wichita Falls and Irving, TX, I volunteered with the Children's Miracle Network & had the good fortune to tour the Children's Medical Center in Dallas.
Currently I work with the PETS Clinic, (Preventing Euthanasia Through Sterilization), Clay Co. Animal Shelter and I assist with the transport of dogs headed to their foster and/or forever homes across the country. I am active in politics both locally and nationally and volunteer with our local Wichita Co. Democratic Assn.
Ed and I have enjoyed several road trips since his retirement in 2010, and recently celebrated our 58th wedding anniversary Jan. 3, 2022.

School Story:

I entered my junior year at WFSH after my father was transferred to SAFB from Denver, CO, after having grown up in a military family. It was quite an adjustment after having left my friends and the beautiful mountains of Colorado. However, in time I did adjust! Most of my free time was spent with other AF brats at Sheppard AFB. I did enjoy attending the pep rallies and Coyote football games and was proud to be a member of the class that won the 1961 state championship!
I've enjoyed connecting with other members of the class of '62 on Facebook and especially enjoyed a great time at our 57th Coyote reunion. Geoff Egge, Winsome Dunn McIntosh and I had our own "mini" reunion since graduating in 1962. We resided on base housing together and Winsome and I also attended elementary school together in Germany.

I understand completely Bonnie. Perhaps if I had grown up here I may have felt the same about those "temporary" students, who knows. And yes, Jim Phillip's is great, we're FB friends. Ed and I attended a film at RHS a few years back about military brats - it was great, hit the nail on the head for me, wish you could view it sometime. Thanks for your comments!

Oh my gosh, who DIDN'T love David?? I never had the pleasure of knowing him in high school but really had fun knowing him at Midwestern. He hung around the student center with Ed, Ed's cousing Dennis, and others in our group on a regular basis. He always made me laugh and I loved being with witty people! David also reminded me of Jack Lemmon back then...may you rest in peace David, you will be missed by so many.

Sheppard Air Force Base modeling class, 1961. Included are a few from our class of '62, some from Coyote class of '63, and some from Burk High. Pat McAdams is standing to my left and was my roommate at MSU. She married Ronnie Strange who passed away in 2010.
