Comments:

Married Richard Eckert in 1964, while attending MSU. I worked his way through his BA degree from Midwestern as well as his MA degree from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX, then his PhD from University of Oklahoma. I received my BS Degree in 1980 from MSU and worked for Wichita County Juvenile Probation Dept. as a Juv. Probation Officer for three years. I then studied for my real estate license and have been a licensed Realtor in the great State of Texas since 1986. I have served as a volunteer and board member through the years with Wichita Falls YMCA, Big Brothers and Sisters of Wichita Co., worked as a mentor with Partners in Education, served on the board of MSU Alumni Assn., volunteered with First Step, Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure, United Way and Leadership Wichita Falls. I now concentrate on volunteering with the PETS Clinic(Preventing Euthanasia Through Sterilization), Clay Co. Animal Shelter and I assist with the transport of dogs headed to their foster and/or forever homes. I am active in politics both locally and nationally and serve as VP for our local Wichita Co. Democratic Assn. and attended our Democratic State Convention representing Hillary Clinton as a delegate in 2008 and 2016.
Ed and I have enjoyed several road trips since his retirement in 2010, and celebrated our 52nd wedding anniversary 1/3/2016.

School Story:

I entered my junior year at WFSH after my father was transferred to SAFB from Denver, CO, after having grown up in a military family. It was quite an adjustment after having left my friends and the beautiful mountains of Colorado. However, in time I did adjust! Most of my free time was spent with other AF brats at Sheppard AFB. I did enjoy attending the pep rallies and Coyote football games and was proud to be a member of the class that won the 1961 state championship!
I've enjoyed connecting with other members of the class of '62 on Facebook.

I've had the pleasure of knowing Winsome most of my life although we haven't seen each other in person since graduation, 1962. We were in elementary school in Bitburg, Germany, back in the '50s (the Air Force base has since closed), then I was so happy when Winsome joined the Coyote team after my dad was transferred to SAFB.
Winsome, I've said this before but repeating it again, we are so proud of all you've accomplished and still going strong! Although I'm not able to be involved (physically) as much as you are, I'm also proud to be an advocate and volunteer for the environment, women's rights and animals. Keep up the good work and keep the faith - I'm so proud to call you friend!

Just read about Rex's passing. Vivianne and I were just chatting yesterday at the Senior Zone about all those people in school we didn't really know well but agreed we thought so much of Rex Jennings & were hoping he would kick this awful cancer. I hate that he's gone. Ed and I have lost dear friends in the last couple months, one lifelong friend, another Ed's high school roommate from St. Gregory's, a long time friend of mine in real estate & just finding out John Pastusek (I believe class of '60) has throat cancer...out damn cancer!
May Rex rest in peace...

Hey Marty - always knew you would grow into a very intelligent adult because you were always the smartest kid on the block back in the day! Never forget SAFB brats, ok? Lots of happy times!

Hi Penny, thanks for the update. I spent 4 years with my parents in Germany back in the day. Congrats on 51 years of marriage to a very nice guy!

I didn't get to know many home town students very well after arriving in W. Falls my junior year w/exception of the Air Force brats but I remember people like Tommy, who was in a couple of my classes. He was always very kind and friendly...the kind of person you don't forget. Rest in peace...

Hi Mike, I'm so envious that you're residing in my home state and I'm not. Hope all is well with you and your family. My mom passed away last year in Duluth so I was back and forth for several months. Ed and I have been up a couple times since to visit her friend/partner who too such good care of her. They had been dating since 1991.
I think we may have had a class or 2 together but my memory is fading, lol. Take care!

WELCOME Mike!

Sheppard Air Force Base modeling class, 1961. Included are a few from our class of '62, some from Coyote class of '63, and some from Burk High. Pat McAdams is standing to my left and was my roommate at MSU. She married Ronnie Strange who passed away in 2010.
